Poet's Corner: Day and Night

You have snapped…

So you let your sunrays marry her
And you let her teach you how to err
In a world that spun around your heart,
In a world that she had never marred?

So you lacked the profane courtesy
And allowed a common currency
To destroy an eager canopy
And affray the ones like you and me?

So you let the mad one bury us
And triumphed as she would carry us
To the heights of guilt vicarious
Where none would be gregarious?

You have snapped, my dear Helios,
Your existence now is perilous.
Your ideas seem rebellious.
You have now become
An alias.
